Meet the 2009 SPS Cyclists
St. Paul's School students who ride more than 3,500 miles across the United States in June and July of 2009.
They raised over $100,000 for their charity, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Below are their pre-ride bios.
 Renzo Falla
10th Grade

You can always make a difference. Anyone can bring about change through a determined effort. When I first heard about this trip, I knew it would be a worthwhile experience that would enrich my life, as well as the lives of those we were biking for.

11th Grade

MA
Several close relatives of mine have either suffered or passed because of cancer and this trip is my way of helping them and the many others who suffer from cancer. I have always enjoyed trying new, challenging things. A bike trip coast to coast will definitely be one of the most challenging things I have pursued but it will be worth it when all our hard work goes to helping those around us.

What better way to finish off my high school years than to travel the country with a determined and fun group of
St. Paul’s students? I am thrilled to be dedicating the majority of my summer to benefit a cause in which I am very invested. I know that this trip will be demanding but the rewards will far outweigh the hard work.
Parker Grayson

I’ve always been big into anything extreme. And quite simply, I don’t see how anything can get more extreme than a 3,000 – mile bike trip. At the same time, I will be raising money in a humanitarian effort to improve the welfare of people all around the nation. This epitomizes to me the principles of
St. Paul’s: reaching out past our small community in order to be part of something greater than any individual going on this bike trip.

This bike trip seems like the perfect opportunity to not only broaden my own horizons but to help children affected by cancer nationwide. I am very excited about spending some quality time with this great group we have created, and learn more about my own backyard.

Determined to bike across the continent, I joined SPS cyclists for the challenge. Quickly, my enthusiasm was reinforced by the desire to be a part of a cause bigger than myself. I found out that someone close to me was put into the care of Dana Farber. This drove me to want to help not only her but all those affected by cancer.

We all know of, or are close to someone, suffering from cancer. I look at this bike trip as an opportunity to support a cause that affects everyone, and is associated with something I love. Expanding my physical boundaries has always enticed me, and I think using my own physical power to get from the
Pacific
Coast to the
Atlantic will display to all those battling cancer, that they too have the power to get to the other side.
